TRADING DEPARTMENT
The trading division of Ephmar Ghana Ltd focuses on sourcing and trading in non- traditional commodities, these includes Raw Cashew Nuts, Salt, Rice, Sugar, Shea nut, Yam, Pineapple etc. for both export and import.
In 2003, we were very active in export of Yam to a Ghanaian based UK Company called Seacas until 2005 when the contact ended. Within same period we partnered with Fair Avenue Venture Limited buying and exporting Pineapples to France. That lasted for few months due to dishonesty on the part of the buyer.
2010 We entered into Raw Cashew Nut business for the first time, buying for Onus Enterprise, an Indian Company, who was and is our major buyer. At the end of 2010 season, we had exported 300 mt to India and Vietnam. The volume shot up from year to year up to 2014 when the contract ended. We have never had a consignment being rejected as a result of total bad quality nuts by consignees.
This year 2020, we’ve start work on a contract of 20,000 mt. 6,000 mt requires quality of 50-53 out turn, 170-185 nut count. moisture 7-10, and 14,000 mt between 45-48/49 out turn, 185-200 nut count, moisture 7-10.
Negotiations are far advanced to set up our own cashew processing plant here in Ghana for value addition.
